Biomolecular imaging & recognition

  • With multiple methods including STM imaging, AFM recognition imaging, and force spectroscopy to probe heparin-FX06 interaction at single-molecular level.

  • Identified single-molecular antithrombin-heparin interaction on different endothelial cell surfaces by AFM based force spectroscopy.

  • Applying aptamer modified AFM tip for the AFM recognition imaging of ricin.

  • Prepared the surface relevant regulable DNA toroids; with AFM technique, studied the behavior of DNA-dopamine complex in solution and on the liquid-solid interface.

  • Demonstrated the low temperature induced disassembly of the filaments consisting of DNA and RecA recombinase on the mica surface by AFM imaging.

  • Examined the inhibition of cationic polyelectrolyte (i.e., poly-L-lysine) on the RecA-DNA filaments formation to understand the reaction mechanism.

  • Synthesized a novel fluorescent silver cluster via protein-directed approach and used it for mercury (II) ion detection.

  • Improved the properties of graphene oxide through modification with different molecules; studied their effects on mammalian cell.

  • Functionalized gold nanoparticles with Raman tag and protein for DNA methylation detection.
